Wall and capping repair for a private client in North Huish, South Brent, Devon. The capping and the top 500 of the wall required dismantling due to vegetation damage down to the ground level.

A hair line crack was pinned and repointed to help prevent any further movement, and the wing walls and steps were pointed where necessary.

In the next phase of works, pointing will be carried out on the left wing wall to the steps, where a broken clay pipe has now been repaired. This next phase will be carried out in spring 2023 and I'll be back in September to clean, restore, and repoint the lounge fireplace while also installing a new slate hearth.

 

This job was started in October 2021, however I wasn't able to get a finish on the mortar and complete the job until March 2022, due to the British weather and because of ground moisture preventing the lime from picking up.
